Livonia Chrysler Jeep Goes Green with PPG Waterborne Paint

At Livonia Chrysler Jeep, we know protecting the environment is a responsibility that’s shared by everyone within our community. It’s why our dealership made an important decision to utilize new “green” resources within our collision repair center. Vehicles that require paint finishing at our shop will now have the benefit of a low-VOC PPG waterborne paint basecoat, as opposed to a typical solvent-based application.

Volatile Organic Compounds, or VOCs, are found in many products such as household cleaning products and various types of paint. They contribute to the accumulation of ozone, a common air pollutant. In addition to ensuring that our customers’ repaired vehicles are restored to their original color, our new low-VOC system also supports the environment by reducing the amount of ozone released. In fact, vehicle’s that use a PPG Envirobase® High-Performance basecoat can reduce related VOC emissions by up to 80%. On top of that, this paint matches color better and can be used faster when completing repairs compared to conventional paints.
